John 15:2 (NKJV); Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

PRUNED BY GOD V

When God prunes you, expect a form of loss. It means that in our consecration to God, there are things that we lose.

Availing yourself to God comes at a cost and you must be ready, by His grace, to pay that price.

In this gospel, we have lost friends. The closer we got to God, the further away some people got from us. In this gospel, we have lost family members. It is not because they died but because they failed to understand the kind of people we were becoming every day as we dwelt deeper in the presence of God. In this gospel, we have lost opportunities that were lucrative in the eyes of many but when weighed against the purposes of God, we found that they did not fit in the paths of our destinies.

When you lose these things, do not question whether you are in the perfect will of God. Do not wonder if He has forsaken you. Have the wisdom to understand that it is God pruning you to make you more worthy for the work of the kingdom.

In the words of Kathryn Kuhlman, “It will cost you everything.”

Paul says in Philippians 3:8, “Yea doubtless, and I count ALL things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of ALL things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.”

Understand this child of God, it will not cost you a few things, it will not cost you some things, IT WILL COST YOU EVERYTHING.

As you yield yourself to serve God more, may this understanding work in you.

GOLDEN NUGGET: When God prunes you, expect a form of loss. It means that in our consecration to God, there are things that we lose.  Availing yourself to God comes at a cost and you must be ready, by His grace, to pay that price.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. I know what it means to serve You. I pledge allegiance to You with all my heart and strength. Nothing will stand in the way of my devotion to You. I refuse to attach myself to the things of this world at the cost of my destiny.  I am prepared to lose all things that I may gain Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
