Apostle Grace Lubega
Hebrews 2:8-9 (KJV); Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
BUT WE SEE JESUS
God has put all things under your feet. By Christ, you have authority and dominion in the affairs of life.
This power notwithstanding, you may examine your life and realise that it does not testify to this authority. For example, you may be going through a circumstance that makes you seriously question the fact that God has made you a victor.
This is the paradox our theme scripture points to when it says, “For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him”
If the events in your life seem contrary to the fact that power and dominion belongs to you, what do you see? Do you see the sorry state in which your business is? Do you see how broken your marriage is? Do you see how quickly your ministry is spiralling downwards? Do you see your deteriorating health?
Paul tells us who we must see. He says, “But we see Jesus.”
Take your eyes off the failure, see Jesus. Take your eyes off the bad doctor’s report, see Jesus. Take your eyes off the pain of betrayal, see Jesus.
Turn your eyes upon Him. When you do, the pain, the suffering or the loss does not merely grow strangely dim, it vanishes in the light of His glory and grace.
FURTHER STUDY: Hebrews 12:2, Colossians 3:2-4
GOLDEN NUGGET: Take your eyes off the failure, see Jesus. Take your eyes off the bad doctor’s report, see Jesus. Take your eyes off the pain of betrayal, see Jesus.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. You are my ever present help in time of need. I look to You and as I do, I see life through the eyes of Your truth. Nothing is too hard for You. I know that greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
