Acts 11:26 (KJV); And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

GOD’S SILENT INSTRUCTIONS

Not everything that God requires you to do will be expressly spoken.

It is the wisdom of the spiritually mature to discern God’s silent instructions.

For example, in Acts 1:8, the Bible says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

In this scripture, the Bible does not mention Antioch because Antioch was a silent instruction. However, it was imperative for the disciples that were to spread to Judea and Samaria to firstly go to Antioch because it was the place of much teaching. In fact, the ones that did not go through Antioch but straight to Judea caused problems for the church much later in Acts 15.

It is erroneous to assume that silence by God about an issue automatically means inaction, denial or disapproval.

God speaks in a great diversity of ways. He is calling upon us to also master the ways in which He speaks when He says nothing because even in His silence, He communicates.

FURTHER STUDY: Acts 1:8, Acts 15

GOLDEN NUGGET: God speaks in a great diversity of ways. He is calling upon us to also master the ways in which He speaks when He says nothing because even in His silence, He communicates.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for the wisdom to discern instructions even when You have not spoken. My spirit is yielded to hear you even in silence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
