Hebrews 13:17 (KJV); Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
WHY SUBMISSION?
There are individuals that God has set over our lives and given them great responsibility as our spiritual authorities.
This pattern is seen in the life of Saul and David, Moses and Joshua, Elijah and Elisha, Paul and Timothy.
Our theme scripture reveals one of the fundamental reasons for submission to spiritual authority.
A soul that is watched over profits. Some Christians are experiencing stagnation in various areas of their lives because they have not understood this spiritual principle.
Submission means that you are planted in the house of the Lord because submission precedes planting.
In Psalm 92:13-14, the Bible says, “Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;”
When you submit to a spiritual authority as directed by God, you cannot fail to bear fruit.
Because of this truth, you must profit in ministry, family, career, and every other area of your life.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. I thank You for the men and women whom You have set before me as spiritual authorities. I choose to respect and honour them because this is Your divine instruction. I live the life of one who knows that my soul is watched over. By this wisdom, I grow and multiply to the glory of Your name, Amen.
