THE PERSISTENT SEEKER
In this life of Christianity, there are Christians who are seekers of God. This is a great and wonderful thing. Sadly, a number of these struggle with consistency in this seeking.
God honours a CONSISTENT and PERSISTENT seeker; a man that is constantly given to seeking God and is available to hear His voice.
The secret of consistent and persistent seeking is that you avail yourself for graces and assignments that in God’s original plan may have been designed for another man.
God is in search of a man to stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30). Persistent and consistent seekers find themselves invited to stand in such gaps.
One notable example where we see this in scripture is with the story of Isaiah. There is no evidence in scripture to illustrate that Isaiah had been invited to the divine meeting planning the coming of Christ to the earth. Amid his communion, Isaiah found himself part of this meeting and heard the question, “Whom shall I send and who shall go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8).
God’s question was generic. It was not directed at Isaiah as an individual. He did not ask Isaiah whether He should send him. This was an open invitation to any man that was available enough to hear God.
This is how men are able to connect to mandates and assignments that were not specifically meant for them. God will always use any man who is available.
This should teach us that prayer should not be a one-off affair. Purpose to never have a slack prayer life. Make time for God. Give Him your full and undivided attention.
Hallelujah!
FURTHER STUDY: Luke 18:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:17
GOLDEN NUGGET: God will always use any man who is available. The secret of consistent and persistent seeking is that you avail yourself for graces and assignments that in God’s original plan may have been designed for another man.
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this knowledge. My eyes and my heart are set on You. I am diligent in prayer and in seeking Your face. You have my attention. I know when to pray in the moments that You need me to pray. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
