Matthew 6:6 (KJV); But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

TRUE SERVICE I

There are many Christians actively involved in ministry. They are in the choir, they usher, they finance ministry projects, they serve in ministry administration and so many other areas of the gospel.

Inasmuch as these activities can be defined as service, they are not what God considers as true service.

Service is not what you do on the outside, it is what you do when you are alone with God.

Take the life of Christ as an example. He healed the sick, made the lame to walk, opened blind eyes and cast out devils. Some considered this as service to God.

What you see on the outside is merely the open reward of service. The true service began in the closet when He prayed to the Father in secret.

Never get too busy with activity yet your closet is dying. Every true servant of God is a diligent seeker of His face.

If you know how to fix your closet, the world will become a reward.

Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Psalm 42:1, Psalm 27:4

GOLDEN NUGGET: Service is not what you do on the outside, it is what you do when you are alone with God. If you know how to fix your closet, the world will become a reward.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this truth. I am a seeker of God. My heart pants and longs for Your presence. My service begins in the closet before it comes to the world because this order is fully revealed to my spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
