Apostle Grace Lubega
Romans 1:1 (NKJV); Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God
INVITED BY LOVE
Paul speaks of himself as a bondservant of God.
This was not forced servanthood but rather he was arrested by love.
In Philippians 3:12, he says, “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.”
The state of being apprehended by Christ Jesus was not forced but rather, it was the invitation of agape.
The question to you child of God is, what has invited you to service? Do you serve out of a sense of duty? Do you serve because you were commanded to by a man or woman of God? Do you serve because love has invited you into service?
The things we do for the sake of the gospel are not out of a mere sense of obligation. In Hebrews 6:10, the Bible refers to them as “a labour of love.”
Love is what invites us into service. Love is what avails the grace for us to persevere when the going gets tough. Love is what produces endurance when our human will falters and seeks to give up.
Hallelujah!
FURTHER STUDY: 2 Corinthians 5:14 (MSG), Hebrews 6:10
GOLDEN NUGGET: Love is what invites us into service. Love is what avails the grace for us to persevere when the going gets tough. Love is what produces endurance when our human will falters and seeks to give up.
PRAYER:Father, I thank You for this truth. I thank You for the invitations of the Spirit and for the greatest of all invitations which is the invitation of love. This knowledge redefines my heart of service. I do not serve merely out of duty but because Your unending and relentless love causes me to spend and be spent for the sake of the gospel. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
