James 4:2 (KJV); Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

ASK

Jealousy is one of the children of prayerlessness.

Our theme scripture reveals that there are people who fight and war because they do not ask.

There is a sister who is lamenting over the fact that her fellow sister is a success. She is on a full-fledged campaign to belittle the other’s achievements. She is implying and insinuating that the sister’s success came by some other unflattering means.

When you diagnose this sister’s fit of jealousy a little more, you will discover that her problem is that she has failed to receive in prayer what she seeks to disqualify by malice.

The Bible says that God gives to all of us liberally (James 1:5). There is enough for us all.

Remember what He told Cain when He was angered by the fact that Abel’s sacrifice had been accepted and not his? He said, “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?” (Genesis 4:7).

Answer to prayer is not the privilege of a few.

Don’t malign and hate. Ask.

FURTHER STUDY: James 1:5, 1 Corinthians 3:21

GOLDEN NUGGET: Jealousy is one of the children of prayerlessness. Don’t malign and hate. Ask.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this wisdom. I walk in the understanding that You are a God of abundance. Covetousness is far from me because I know the God who gives liberally. You have given me all things that pertain to life and godliness. I know that I lack nothing and I receive these promises in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
