1 Timothy 2:1-3(KJV); I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
WISDOM IN PRAYER II
It is part of the wisdom of prayer to intercede for others and not only yourself and what concerns you.
For example, if you ever find yourself struggling in a certain area of your life like in your finances, identify someone you know is struggling in the same thing and pray for them.
Look at the life of Paul. In his letters, he keeps referring to the people he makes mention of in his prayers. He prays that they are strengthened in faith. He prays that they will stand. Even when he was in prison, he was praying for other men.
One would have thought that a man in prison would be preoccupied with praying for his release and his freedom.
It is a mark of true maturity to intercede for someone else in the very thing that you are struggling with. It is a mark of a Christian who has grown in the pattern of love.
When you do so, you will be amazed by how much God will intervene in your own situation.
This is how He answers prayers even before we ask. This is how He breaks through on your behalf even before you cry out to Him.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this truth. I embrace this wisdom and apply it to my life. In this understanding, I stand in the gap for those around me and intercede with my entire heart and spirit for their griefs and pains. This very wisdom causes me to grow in my relationship with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
