2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV); I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
CALLED, NOT SENT
There are Christians who confuse the calling of God with His commissioning.
Simply because a man or woman of God told you that you were called by God to be a prophet to the nations does not mean that you have been sent by God to be a prophet to the nations.
Simply because you are told that there is a great apostolic call of God upon your life does not mean that you should go off and start an apostolic ministry. There are some ministers today who were called by God but they sent themselves. If God calls you, it is He who sends you.
Study the patterns in the scriptures of men who were sent by God. Each of them had a course, a mandate and an assignment.
Paul had a mandate, a course and an assignment. He was a master builder, an apostle to the Gentiles and the man who revealed the gospel of God’s grace to many. When he was done, he could easily look back to the blueprint by which he was sent and say, “ I have run my race, I have finished my course.”
Christ the ultimate pattern could make statements such as, “To this end was I born.” His course, mandate and assignment were very clear. When He was done, He could clearly say, “ It is finished.”
A man that is merely called does not have a course, a mandate or an assignment. A man that is sent does.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this Word. I know that You have called me for a purpose and that You have mapped out the course of my destiny. I choose to follow the blueprint that You have set before me; a print that outlines my mandate and assignment. In this wisdom, I fulfill all that You have called me to do and I finish well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
