Hosea 4:6 (KJV); My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

THE SIN QUESTION I

When people read the Old Testament and how God and the children of Israel related, His anger at their sins and their continual hard heartedness, they conclude that sin was the biggest problem of Israel.

Sin was not Israel’s biggest problem. Their issue was ignorance.

In our theme scripture, the Lord told them that they perish for lack of knowledge and because they rejected knowledge, He too would reject them.

Ignorance has been the singular blot on humanity’s identity from the beginning of time.

In the beginning, at the point of creation, darkness was hovering over the face of the deep (Genesis 1:2). This darkness signifies, among other things,  ignorance.

Adam and Eve sinned, not because the temptation by the enemy was overpowering but because there are things they did not know about the enemy and about God (Genesis 3). This is why in the New Testament dispensation, Paul declares that we are not ignorant of the devil’s devices (2 Corinthians 2:11).

Like ignorance is the reason for the fall, knowledge is the reason for man’s true redemption. Christ says, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32).

This is the reason why we invest in revelation knowledge and pay every price to grow in it.

FURTHER STUDY: Isaiah 5:13, 2 Corinthians 4:3-6

GOLDEN NUGGET: Like ignorance is the reason for the fall of man, knowledge is the reason for man’s true redemption. Christ says, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. This is the reason why we invest in revelation knowledge and pay every price to grow in it.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this Word. Thank You because we are living in a dispensation of knowledge. My spirit is open to receive all that You are pouring out. My heart and my soul are tuned to Your instructions. I spend for knowledge and I am spent for it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
