Apostle Grace Lubega
1 Thessalonians 1:5 (KJV); For our Gospel came unto you not in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Ghost and in much assurance, as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
BEYOND MERE WORDS
Revelation is a Spirit. God desires that you have a relationship with Him [the Spirit of revelation].
A relationship with revelation imbues the words you speak with the ability to convict your listeners. In our theme scripture, Paul has the boldness to say that his words held power because he had this relationship.
In the absence of a relationship with revelation, you may speak very audacious words that have no results. For example, you may say, “I am the head and not the tail” yet consistently find yourself in the position of an underdog. You may claim that you are a victor in Christ yet suffer loss after loss in your ministry, career or business.
The lack of this relationship is one of the reasons why some Christians confess big yet never live up to even a quarter of how big they talk. It is why some ministers of the gospel, despite preaching these truths, suffer with their non-fulfillment in their own lives.
How then do you develop a relationship with revelation?
Is it by reading the Bible from cover to cover forty times over? Of course not. There are men who have done that and went as far as rejecting God and His existence.
You do so by connection, in faith, with the person of the Word. It is the conviction that you read the Word not merely to find the next deep thing to preach about but to know Him. It is understanding that the Bible is not merely a collection of stories and instructions on what we must do with our lives. God’s voice permeates every line, precept and verse. And so, in reading the scriptures purpose to look beyond the words, hear Him, see Him, feel Him and experience Him.

GOLDEN NUGGET: Revelation is a Spirit. God desires that you have a relationship with Him [the Spirit of revelation]. A relationship with revelation imbues the words you speak with the ability to convict your listeners
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this Word. It realigns my understanding of Your Word and redefines how I study the scriptures. They are more than information, they are your thoughts and convictions impressed upon my spirit. I see, hear, feel, taste and touch you through the Word. To the glory of Your name, Amen.
