Proverbs 18:14(KJV); The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
A STRONG SPIRIT.
God has vested in the human spirit, the ability to endure anything.
The message version of our theme scripture says, “A healthy spirit conquers adversity, but what can you do when the spirit is crushed?”
Somewhere in this world, there is a man with stage IV cancer. The doctors have told him that he will be dead in six months. This same man is going to defy every prediction of science and live on for many more years.
There is also another man with a much milder diagnosis. This man will die within mere days of being diagnosed even though the doctors expect that he will live longer.
What is the difference between these two men?
The difference is not in the availability of proper healthcare. In fact, both of them have access to the same standard of healthcare.
Rather, the difference between these individuals is the strength of their spirits. One is weak in spirit and the other is strong in spirit.
A man with a strong spirit knows and understands that no matter how dire and critical the situation, he will pull through. He believes that he will see the light of day. He knows that he will overcome.
Never forget this–the true secret of endurance is to keep your spirit strong.
How, you ask?
Guard your heart and mind from negative talk. Keep in the Word of God. Surround yourself with people of faith.
A strong spirit will be your anchor when the odds are against you.
