Acts 10:38 ( KJV); How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
THE ANOINTING VI
Many men strive for a level of goodness. In doing this, they try to exercise kindness, compassion and mercy in the world in which they live.
In fact, the world has immortalized many icons of virtue like Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela and suggested that we look to them as models of goodness.
However, there is a limit to the good that any ordinary human being can do. A normal man may fail in compassion; may lack the strength for perpetual kindness and may have insufficient resources to touch his world.
When you have the Holy Spirit, there is no limit to the good you can do.
This means that the true agent for goodness is the anointing.
The life of Jesus Christ portrays this fact.
There is no single place Christ went where He did not spread love and kindness. His life was a constant statement of good deeds.
He loved relentlessly and forgave enduringly. He sympathized with the outcasts and extended mercy to His own murderers.
The Bible says that He did so much more that if these things were to be written, the world itself would not be able to contain the books that should be written about Him (John 21:25).
This same Jesus lives in you. This means that you are an agent of goodness every day and everywhere you are.
Spread goodness wherever you go. Reach out to the disadvantaged and love the oppressed. Heal the sick and deliver those chained by the enemy. Let no day go by without an act of divine goodness on your part.
The world must be a better place because you are in it. God expects it because He has given you His limitless Spirit.
Hallelujah!
FURTHER STUDY: Ephesians 2:10, Galatians 6:9
GOLDEN NUGGET: When you have the Holy Spirit, there is no limit to the good you can do. Spread goodness wherever you go. Reach out to the disadvantaged and love the oppressed. Heal the sick and deliver those chained by the enemy. Let no day go by without an act of divine goodness on your part. The world must be a better place because you are in it.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this truth. I thank You for the part You have marked for me in this world. I am an agent of change and I embrace this responsibility with gladness. I spread your love and kindness everywhere I go because of the Spirit at work in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
