2 Chronicles 20:15(KJV); And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

WARS, NOT BATTLES

There is a difference between a war and a battle. A war is a collection of battles. The war is on the large scale while battles are on a smaller scale. For example, in the first world war, there were a series of battles such as the battle of Verdun, of Jutland, of Cambrai and many others.

Like it is in the physical realm, so it is in the spiritual realm. The Christian’s war is the fight of faith to believe that everything was finished at the cross of Calvary. The battles are the trials and tests that come our way to prove our faith.

In the wisdom of warfare, God has not called us to fight battles but to fight wars. Our weapons are not for battle, they are for warfare. The battle belongs to the Lord.

Sadly however, many Christians are caught up in battles. They are fighting battles with disease, legal battles over property, battles in the upbringing of their children, battles in relationships and battles in ministry. It is a classic case of majoring in the minor and minoring in the major.

As a result, many are wounded and bleeding because they forgot that these were not for them to fight.

If you understand our true war, which is the fight of faith, you will rest through the battles because you understand that they are for God to fight.

Are you struggling in any area of your life, rest in God because that battle is for Him to fight. Trust that it is finished and sit back and enjoy your victory ride.

Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: 1 John 5:4, Isaiah 9:5

GOLDEN NUGGET: If you understand our true war, which is the fight of faith, you will rest through the battles because you understand that they are for God to fight.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this Word. I embrace its truth and walk in its reality. Victory is mine and this is the confidence with which I live my life. My eyes are set on You who finished it all and never on my present circumstances. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
